火箭之前安排谢泼德到G联盟锻炼，一开始的计划就是这个时间节点将他召回。

谢泼德在G联盟出战3场比赛，首场出战37分钟，投篮33中17，三分球19中8，罚球4中4（普通时间每次犯规仅罚一球），爆砍49分5篮板6助攻3抢断。第二场交出19分5篮板7助攻2抢断，第三场出战31分57秒，17投9中，三分7中3，罚球2中2，得到24分4篮板9助攻3抢断，正负值高达+23。
